Mrs. McDonald talks about how she came to Syracuse, NY on a vacation, and how she's stayed in the city for years. She also discusses growing up surrounded by racism in the American South. Emma McDonald's uncle, Christopher Columbus Gayle (sic), left the south in the 1800's and headed for New York.
